Family policies
What families ask before the first day.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A child with a fever, or who was sick in the night, stays home until the next morning. The office calls a parent when a child is unwell at school and sends a note when something is going around.
Drop-off and pickup
Cars arrive in the drive from 8:00 a.m. and leave from 3:15 p.m., and a teacher meets each child at the door. Only the adults on the family's pickup list may collect a child, and we ask to see ID until we know you.
Closures for weather and holidays
The school closes for the usual holidays, the winter and spring breaks, and for snow and ice. A closure goes out by text and email before 6:30 a.m. and is posted on this website.
Leaving the program
We ask families to tell the office in writing before the end of a term. The enrollment agreement explains how a term in progress is handled.
Screens and phones
Children do not use phones or tablets during the school day. A phone that comes to school stays switched off in the backpack. In grades 5 to 8, computers are used for typing and research, with a teacher beside the class.
Uniform
Children wear a plain dress code: collared shirts or blouses, dark trousers, skirts or dresses, and sturdy shoes. The office keeps the list, any shop will do, and a family may ask about a change at the visit.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Families send a lunch, and the school provides water. Tell us about allergies at the visit; we ask privately once you enroll, and each teacher keeps the plan for the children in the room.
Absences and late arrival
Please tell the office by 8:30 a.m. when a child will be absent or late. A child who arrives after the day has begun comes to the office first and is walked to class.
